THE STRIDE THEORY

Stride Theory Colorado is built on a simple idea: thinking should move. We reject the idea that philosophy belongs only in classrooms, books, or controlled discussions. Instead, we bring it into motion — into effort, into real time.

Our mission is to explore the deepest questions across disciplines and traditions without limits. We engage with everything: existentialism, Advaita Vedānta, Black philosophy, the history of science, physics, chemistry, ethics, identity, and the structure of reality itself — not as isolated subjects, but as connected attempts to understand what is true.

We don’t approach these ideas passively. We test them. We question them while we run . What appears “universal” can break down when individuals are forced to navigate systems that constrain their agency. This raised questions that continue to drive my thinking:

To what extent can moral principles truly apply to everyone?
How do power structures shape ethical choices?
Is it possible to define fairness or justice in a way that accounts for unequal conditions?

This isn’t about having the right answers. It’s about refusing shallow ones.

HIGHLINE CANAL

Flat, quiet, and consistent. This is where conversations lock in and stay steady, with long stretches that make it easy to settle into a rhythm and think without interruption. Good for sustained discussions that build over time.

Cherry creek reservior

Wide paths, open water, and a steady flow of movement. This spot creates physical and mental space, making it easier to step back and look at bigger questions from a distance. Conversations tend to expand here rather than narrow.

daniel's park

Open space, elevation, and long views. The terrain adds effort, which tends to strip conversations down to what actually matters. Ideas here get simpler, sharper, and more direct.

Our Commitment

Stride Theory Colorado exists to bring thinking back into motion. Most people treat ideas as something separate from life: something you read, study, or discuss in controlled and quiet settings. We reject that. We believe the best thinking happens when you’re in the middle of effort, when your body is working, your guard is down, and your mind is forced to stay honest.

I’m not interested in repeating a fixed canon or staying within the same limited set of ideas. I’m actively building a living philosophy curriculum—one that expands beyond dominant frameworks and brings in underrepresented perspectives. This process is collaborative by design. I draw from others—classmates, mentors, and fellow runners—to shape what we explore, because no single person has a complete view.

Every run is built around a question, not a route. We don’t start with pace or distance. We start with problems. What is the self? Are you the one thinking, or the one observing thoughts? Instead of centering one philosopher, we take an idea-first approach, pulling from multiple traditions—existentialism, Kantian thought, scientific perspectives, and beyond—to examine different angles at once.

This isn’t about arriving at clean and polished answers. It’s about breaking assumptions, sharpening awareness, and actively learning to sit comfortably inside uncertainty without rushing to resolve it. Philosophy here is active. It’s something you test, question, and refine in real time.

This isn’t about arriving at answers. It’s about breaking assumptions, sharpening awareness, and learning to sit inside questions without rushing to resolve them. You don’t need a background in philosophy, and you don’t need to be a certain level of runner. All ages and abilities in running and philosophy are welcome. The only thing you're required to bring is an open mind and some running shoes! What matters is that you’re willing to engage, to question, and to stay present in the discomfort of not knowing. We run together, but more importantly, we think together — and over time, both become clearer.
